"They make you so lively!"

Sinus pills? Gimme gimme!

Today, i was chillin' with Becky and Amanda, and Becky had these sinus pills cause she's sick-o. Amanda took some too cause she was also feeling sick and they started talking about the pills had made them feel all jittery and alive and hyper n shit.

We later retreated to a park and sat on a bench where we may or may not have smoked a couple bowls and had a couple cigarettes. I decided to join my hyper friends and take one of those aforementioned sinus pills. I swear to god, those things are amazing. Not only could I breath fantastically, but I was super happy and really stoked on everything. My lungs felt like they were cleaning themselves out and my eyes were really refreshed everytime I blinked. ahhaha. It was the weirdest thing, but totally awesome.

My weekend plans are starting to piss me off. :( everything is clashing onto the same night. Ughh! I gotta figure this shit out... Actually, no, I need to stop pulling Archies and not overlap my plans. hahaha.

Started talking to a friend that I had kinda given up on a couple nights ago. We'll see how it goes, I guess. Can't say I want the drama though..

I feel like things are finally being turned around for me. :) Wee! School & Gym tomorrow! I need a JOB! JESUS FUCK! haha. I really hope my job hunting from today turns out to be successful. Going job hunting again on thursday... or should I say "Jon Hunting?!" LOL. [I wrote on my fbook status that I was gonna be job hunting pretty much everyday, and one time, instead of saying Job, i said Jon without realizing. People think i'm craazy.] I really need a job if i'm to go to New York in August. I'm also probably going to Jess' cabin or whatever. So i need money for that too. I breifly looked up some prices for NYC today, i'm gonna need like 4 grand. JOB! JOB! JOB! JOB! JOB!

FUN FACT OF THE DAY!

OH ALSO: I bought a book today! Picked up another Ken Follett novel. Hornet Flight is what it's called. Stoked to get started on it :)

The Man From St. Petersburg - Book Review!

Since I enjoy pretending that people care about my opinions on books, I've decided to write a review of this one. I just finished it a couple hours ago and Damn! It was awesome.

Ken Follett has perfected the art of creating tension. It's definitely been a while since i've actually held my breath while reading a book, but this one totally had that effect on me. On more than one occasion I found myself holding my breath only to let out a huge sigh once my face started to turn blue :P hahaha. I may be exaggerating, but the suspense in this book is fantastic!

My favorite character has got to be the Earl of Walden. His name is Stephen [yesyes, i know. But that's not why he's my favorite. ahha. go away, skeptics!], and he's married to a Russian noblewoman named Lydia. Their child, Charlotte, is 18 years old. Stephen is absolutely fantastic! He's so strong, yet so inlove with his wife and daughter. There are some great displays of heroism from him throughout the novel. It's not hard to fall inlove with him, for sure. But Ken Follett has a way of making you love ALL his characters. Despite Stephen being my favorite, I have a soft spot in my heart for the Russian anarchist, Feliks. In terms of character development and interactions between characters, Ken Follett never ceases to amaze me.

The attention to detail around London was fantastic! Street names, park descriptions, depictions of buildings, everything was fantastic. There are definitely some authors that pay TOO much attention to detail and description, but Follett has a good balance. You can definitely imagine what is happening, but the story moves along at a great pace.

Overall: This book was great. I couldn't put it down once I got halfway through the second chapter. The suspense is great, and I couldn't love it more. I would definitely recommend it, and other works by Ken Follett. I've only read Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, but they were both great. I plan on picking up quite a few more of his books, and i recommend him to all!

"To enter the pub, he had to step over what looked like a dead cat."

So i've decided that since I have an hour and a half bus ride to school a couple times a week, i might as well pick up a new book. The other day I was down in Inglewood with Kevin and bought "The Man From St. Petersburg" by Ken Follett from Fair's Far. So far: really awesome. I'm only 2 chapters in, but i'm lovin' the suspense so far. I love Ken Follett's style of writing, he's fantastic. I'll post a review of it once i'm done. *sigh* How I wish i was the daughter of an English Earl in old school England.

This book also got me thinking about librarys, and how badly I want one. Shit man, i would die for a big old library made of dark beautiful wood with a fireplace, a couple thousand books, huge stainglass windows, a gold sliding ladder and a couple leather chairs. I would live and die in that room.

The Start of a Story That I Wish I Could Finish...

I started this story a while ago and it was going really good, but like always, i got stuck. So here's what I managed to finish. lol @ Jenn wanting me to use her name in it.

A lone shadow moves slowly along Highway 1. A trained eye can see it is a person with few personal belongings; only enough to fit into a small backpack, nothing more. The drifter stares off at the far Quebec horizon, patiently waiting for a car to stop and pick her up. She loses herself in the pink and orange colors of the sunset, reflecting on who she is and who she has yet to become. After walking and thinking for what seems like an eternity, a wood panelled station-wagon pulls up next to her. After mouthing a silent thanks to a higher power, she kneels down to the opening window of the car. The driver is a while haired man in his mid-60’s, he has a kind face. When he speaks, he has a Welsh accent, but the drifter cannot figure out where the accent is from. He asks the question she was expecting, where are you headed to? Wherever you’re going sounds fantastic. She smiles warmly, but doesn’t say more than necessary. He unlocks the door and waits for the drifter to get comfortable. Once her bag is tucked away nicely and her seatbelt fastened, the man asks if Montreal seems like an acceptable destination. The drifter only nods; she is not quite sure if she likes to talk or is the quiet type. As the car begins to move, she pulls down the visor in front of her and looks into the small mirror. It is slightly smudged, but she can see her reflection fine. She looks at her brown curly hair and round face. A name is necessary. Her full lips are lightly coloured and just barely chapped. A hometown is a key piece of information as well. She makes her way up to her round brown eyes, but just as she begins to focus on them the man speaks. “Well young lady, do you have a name?” She thinks to herself about how good of a question that is. Quickly, she thinks of the first thing that pops into her head. “Jenn… Hval” The man nodded and started the engine, not replying with his name. It was a quiet car ride.

"Do they meet at the G-Spot?"

Being back in Calgary is terrible. The energy difference in this city makes me wanna beat up a puppy... I'm sorry, that's a bit too far. But yeah, it sucks.

On a happier note: I bought my concert tickets today! 2 tickets for HIM [yes, i know, they suck. I've loved them forever and I can't help it. haha. But their new album sucks ass, even for them] and 1 ticket to Amon Amarth & Eluveitie. I couldn't be more stoked about Amon Amarth & Eluveitie coming to Calgary together. They're both in my top 5 bands, so this opportunity is mind blowing!

I also picked up this really cool bag that I saw at an army surplus store the other day. It's a legit soviet first aid kit. It's so cool, man. Links to pictures of it:
Soviet Stamp on the inside flap
Front of the bag, first aid patch & soviet pin
The entire bag

My gift for Stevie C is officially done! I just gotta send it tomorrow. I've decided to express post that shit so it won't get lost in the mail, since we all know that Canada Post sucks ass!! But yeah, i got the shirt made today. It's purple and it says "Well, i thought it was funny..." on the front and "And my fangirls did too" on the back. I'm so excited about it. The shirt is so soft, man. It kills me! I wanna just keep it and wear it to sleep every night. HAHA. Too bad it's freaking huge. I really hope it fits him, but its better that its too big than it being too small, right?
Front
Back

I saw Shutter Island the other day with my cousins. It was pretty good, man. One thing that I absolutely loved: how freaking obvious the twist was, yet it never crossed my mind while I was watching it. Although, i gotta say, in terms of work that Scorsese and Dicaprio have done together, The Departed was better. I still loved it though. Giving it an 8 out of 10!

FUN FACT OF THE DAY!
The world's longest Coca-Cola truck is in Sweden. It is 79 feet long with a four-axle trailer.

The View From Cloud 9 is Incredible!

ALRIGHT LADIES AND GENTS!! Here goes! If I remember anything after I post this, i'll edit it and add to it. Oh also: I ended up losing my brother who had the camera, so I don't have pictures yet, but it appears that gettyimages has some and I got the facebook name of a girl who has right infront of me taking great pics. So once i get those, ill make an album for you guys.

Okay, so to start: My bus got there 2 hours early, and I couldn't be happier with the fact. When we got there at quarter to 7, the line up was pretty big. If we had gotten there at the normal time, I wouldn't have gotten a decent spot to watch him and would've cried. haha. But essentially, after waiting quite a while and talking to some people about Wigfield and how they should read it cause its awesome, we were told to run to the stage. We all booked it super fast and I had to run in freaking boots. I swear... I thought people were gonna die. There were ALOT OF PEOPLE. We were a crazed mob of Nation Members who just wanted a bit of Stephen, not a good group to cross.

Rick The Stage Manager:
Rick was awesome! He was wearing a shirt that said "Ice-Hole Crew.." I want one. He gave us some hand signals so we knew when to cheer our hearts out and when to shut the fuck up. We did some practicing, tried to sing the Canadian anthem, as we are over patriotic hosers, but he stopped us. haha. It was fun times. Rick would make a few more appearances throughout the show, and I think we displayed out love for him with out chanting of his name pretty well.

Opening Comedian:

Okay, so he didn't tell us his name, but he called himself one of "Stephen's elves" hahaha. It was great. He made a funny joke about his reusing of jokes from the day before, and how he figured we'd appreciate the recycling of the jokes. I enjoyed it immensely. He was great. I would later come to hate his guts [not really, but i was upset. haha]

Dutch Band:

I can't remember if these guys were before to after the Skate Expectations videos, but they were awesome. They were a dutch brass band that Stephen had met at the Oval that had agreed to open the show. They played some awesome songs that the crowd sang along to, including: "We Will Rock You," "So Happy Together," "We Are The Champions," and "The Star Spangled Banner." They were freaking awesome. ahha.

Skate Expectations '010:

They played all of his try outs for the various teams for us. It was about 25 minutes, and you guys have all seen those, so no big deal. haa. Gosh he looked good in that curling video. Mmhmmm. And I think i may have scared the girl next to me during the speedskating one when he was unzipping the suit, i cheered rather loudly.

Goodyear Sky Cam!

So, the group that showed up was INSANELY huge! So big infact that Goodyear wanted to do a sky shot of us. Funniest part about this? We couldn't find the plane and after asking him he was like "Where is it? It's in the sky, you idiots!" bahha!

Better Know A Riding:

Holy shit are you guys in for a treat! Better know a riding was AMAZING! Stephen let us know ahead of time we were getting to see him be a real jerk and that they only show the nice stuff on TV. And well... he wasn't lying. I've never seen Stephen be that much a dick! Hah I think he may have even crossed a few lines, even I was thinking "Oh shit Stephen..." HAHA. It was hilarious though, the edit should be interesting. He called the district "The Fightin' Southies!" hahah it made me laugh. He made a few jokes about Caste... and they were terrible. ahah. That was the only thing really, but it was bad. I don't know how much of it they'll keep for the edit.

Interviews With The Aerialists:

Lets the honest with ourselves here, I don't give a shit about what their names were. But I seem to remember one being named Speedy or something. This interview was pretty good, I remember laughing alot, but I can't remember alot of the jokes. It was a long day. He did mess up when he was running over to the guests, so he had to go back and do it again. He also messed up when he brought up that one of them was kicked out of the Turin games because he got into a bar fight. Haha, he thought it was the one not wearing the tie... apparently the respectable lookin' one is the brawler. So Stephen got them to reshoot that afterwards. It was so cute when he messed up running on stage, cause he was like "Oh fuck, i messed up" and then ran back off. haha. I think that was the time when he threw an accent into his countdown. LOL. One of aerialists said something about always wanting to push the envelope, more spins and more flips, no matter what. And Stephen said that that's called an addiction. haha he made a funny joke about the interview wasn't actually an interview, it was an intervention. And that the thousands of people in the audience were really worried about him. HAHA

Interview with The Snowboarder:

Okay, so apparently a US snowboarder just won gold in something, so he was on the show. Almost right when the interview started, Stephen took his gold medal and put it on. It suits him, gold medals... ahaha! Oh, he also pulled out a snowboard with him on it! A blue burton board with our man Stephen on it. COME ON, WHO DOESNT WANT THAT? ahha! He made a joke about how the courses look like a board game with the blue stripes on it. He asked the snowboarder if he's worried about how his Turin gold medal is gonna feel when he brings home the Vancouver one. They started talking about how there is some controversy over snowboarders wearing tighter clothing now, and Stephen made a joke about how everyone should just board in thongs... Is it back that my thought was "OH YES PLEASE STEPHEN, DEMONSTRATE!!" ahhahah. He made comments about how snowboarding is natural... and then... my favorite part. This story ladies and gentlemen, will blow my mind for the rest of eternity. Are you ready? Are you sure? I don't think you are, but we'll go on anyway. The boarder brought out a jacket for Stephen because he could use the style update [what a dink., Stephen looks great all the time!]. The jacket was a great plaid one that you can see in some of the pictures. Stephen put on the jacket and he looked great, obviously. Then he got the boarder to sign his board, and while this was happening, EVERYONE was silent. So, me being my obnoxious self, decided that it would be a good idea to yell out "STEPHEN, YOU LOOK HOT!" bahaha! Luckily, he heard me! And he actually laughed and looked out at us, and i shit you not guys... HE WAS BLUSHING! I, Priya, made Stephen Colbert blush onstage. Oh yes. That's right. He actually brought it up later, which I will address later in this report.

Toss Takes:

So, what they're gonna do is have in studio Stephen toss out to Vancouver Stephen. Stephen had to shoot a bunch of tosses saying "thanks steve!" And "Back out to you Steve!" ahhah it was kinda awkward. He also retaped some good byes to his guests. One that I really liked, was when he was saying bye to Michael Buble and was like "Thank you for being so adorable!" BAHAHAH. I died. There were some really great ones for every guest, but I can't remember them all.

His Outfit and Hair:

He was wearing an adorable blue & red sweater, but you guys have all seen the pictures. His white pants... so hot. LOL. And I was diggin' the boots with the red laces. His hair looked great! And i'll talk more about that in a bit too.

Some of the Signs I saw:

I saw some really great signs when I was there, so here are a few that really caught my eye:

- "COLBERT IS HOTTER THAN STEWART!"

- "Colbert: probably an ankle skater [with a sketch of Stephen failing at skating]"

- "Proud Ice-Hole!"

- "Marry me Stephen! I'm legal here!"

RIDE THE MOOSE!

The ending for Thursday's episode is gonna kill you guys, i know it! And its all cause of us Canadians, you guys can thank us later. So the exit was just gonna be Stephen sitting on the chair saying his thang, but we started chanting "RIDE THE MOOSE! RIDE THE MOOSE!" until he actually decided go sit on it! Here are a few of the interactions we had with our Nations leader! [Disclaimer: quotes are not exact, my memory sucks, forgive me. I'll try though.]

"RIDE THE MOOSE! RIDE THE MOOSE!"

"If I fall, it's your fault!"

"DON'T GET HURT! DON'T GET HURT!"

"Hey! That doesn't absolve you from any guilt!"

Bahah! Then he got up on the moose, after they moved it center stage. And he was just chillin' on it, and someone started rolling it! LOL. he freaking out, it was hilarious. Then we started chanting "WAVE THE FLAG! WAVE THE FLAG!" So he picked it up, did the lines and then started waving the flag. Needless to say, there is nothing better than seeing him wave that flag, despite how American he is.

Other Amazing and Important Notes:

- This is for the Canadians out there... Stephen is gonna take us off notice! How do I know this? We begged him and he fell. He started talking about how he likes us, and we started yelling at him that we were still on notice. Bastard acted like he had no idea. HAH. He was like "Oh, are you guys on notice?" Pssht! haha. But we started chanting his name and after saying he would consider it, we smoothed him over with our mob-ish charms and he gave in. Tis a glorious day to be an Icehole.

- When we were all singing "O Canada!" I can't help but think that Stephen felt left out, cause he started singing The Star Spangled Banner by himself.. haha! Poor guy. He's not on home turf.

Funny comments made by the man himself [Disclaimer: quotes may not be exact, don't shoot me]:

- "Go easy on me if I fuck up, guys."

- "Are you guys high?" ... Then he said something about asking that question in Vancouver and receiving the response he got.

- "Are you chanting my name? For legal reasons, now in French!" [Crowd then went onto chant "STEFAN! STEFAN!" hahah!]

- " I don't know if I look hot, but I feel hot" [Shortly after my comment and talking about how hot it was outside."

And of course...

Priya Meets Stephen Colbert:

Okay, so I didn't get to meet him for long, cause there were MASSES of people there. But I did get to meet him, very breifly. He was walking along the fence signing stuff and he came up to me. I had my copy of Wigfield with me, and while he was singing it I asked him if I could quickly get a picture. And he said that he couldnt because he "would never be able to get outta here if I did that!" And its true, i'm not upset about it. Plus, he seemed genuinely sorry about it. BUT, I did touch his hair as he was walking away :)

Thoughts on this whole thing:

It was completely worth it. The 15 hours bus ride, 4 hours waiting for Stephen outside in the cold, standing on aching legs and an aching back for 4 hours and only meeting him for 2 seconds... totally worth it. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! And honestly, Mrs Colbert the 2nd said something about being able to feel the energy when in the same city as him. It's true. As soon as I got off that bus it was like someone gave me a shot of energy. I was so happy and stoked on life. And when I met him, i got this amazing vibe off of him. He is literally one of those guys that just seems like a great guy. One of those people you meet in the street and can't help but love right away. I can't wait to go to New York and see the show again. It was amazing! I'm in shock! I still can't fully function probably. *sigh* You guys, i feel like i'm floating. And after, when I was on the train and I went past the place where I met him, my heart literally fluttered a bit. I couldn't be happier.

Here's a couple pics from Getty Images that I really liked, from today:
